Lead Solution Architect - Advanced CRM & Customer Data
Duration: Initial 6 Months
Location: Reading or Dublin (Hybrid basis)
Job Type: Inside IR35 Day Rate
We're looking for an experienced Lead Solution Architect to provide architectural leadership across customer engagement, CRM and customer data initiatives, helping to shape the future of Primark's digital customer experience landscape.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in defining architecture strategy across customer identity, customer data, personalisation, loyalty and marketing technology platforms. You'll work closely with business and technology stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure and customer-centric solutions that support Primark's ambitious growth agenda.
What you'll be doing
- Leading end-to-end solution architecture across CRM, customer data, personalisation and customer engagement capabilities
- Defining architecture roadmaps, target-state designs and transition strategies aligned to business objectives
- Establishing solution patterns, integration standards and architectural guardrails across the customer technology ecosystem
- Designing scalable solutions supporting customer identity, consent management and unified customer profiles
- Collaborating with Digital, Marketing, Data, Engineering and Security teams to deliver seamless customer experiences
- Driving API-first, event-driven and cloud-native architecture approaches across customer-facing platforms
- Assessing the impact of new capabilities, regulatory requirements and customer experience initiatives across the technology landscape
- Providing architectural governance, design assurance and technical leadership throughout delivery lifecycles
- Supporting platform and vendor evaluations, technology selection activities and architecture decision-making
- Identifying and managing architectural risks, dependencies and delivery considerations across multiple workstreams
- Producing and maintaining architecture artefacts including solution blueprints, integration designs and target-state models
- Engaging senior stakeholders to communicate architecture decisions, recommendations and strategic direction

What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a Lead Solution Architect delivering enterprise-scale customer-focused technology solutions
- Strong experience across CRM, Customer Data Platforms (CDP), marketing technology and digital customer engagement ecosystems
- Deep understanding of customer identity, consent management, customer data and personalisation architectures
- Experience integrating CRM and customer data platforms with digital channels, enterprise applications and data platforms
- Strong knowledge of API-led, event-driven and cloud-native architecture principles
- Experience defining architecture roadmaps, solution blueprints and target-state operating models
- Strong understanding of solution architecture frameworks and best practices, including TOGAF or equivalent
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience working across large-scale digital transformation, customer experience or retail technology programmes
- Knowledge of technologies such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Salesforce Data Cloud, Braze, Adobe, Tealium or similar customer engagement platforms would be highly beneficial
- 8+ years' technology experience, including significant experience delivering enterprise-scale architecture solutions
- Relevant degree or professional qualifications preferred
