A Senior Architecture Role With Real Authority
Highly prestigious global financial services organisation with a modern, forward-looking IT function are currently seeking a Lead Solution Architect. This role will act as the central authority for solution architecture across the organisation: setting standards, governing change and ensuring technology decisions align with enterprise strategy, security requirements and regulatory obligations.
This is a senior, hands-on position. You will retain direct responsibility for solution design, threat modelling and architecture consultancy across cloud, on-premises and hybrid environments, while also holding practice-level accountability for governance, prioritisation and the development of the wider architecture team. The organisation is committed to modern working practices, including the use of AI and automation to accelerate delivery, and is looking for an architect who reflects that approach.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
