What You'll Do
- Own the end-to-end solution architecture for complex IT initiatives, ensuring functional, non-functional, security and technology requirements are met.
- Translate business and technical requirements into pragmatic, scalable architecture solutions.
- Work closely with requirement owners, domain architects, engineers and delivery teams to take solutions from concept through delivery.
- Bridge Enterprise Architecture and technology delivery, ensuring solutions align with enterprise standards and target architectures.
- Define architecture roadmaps and technology direction across a specific domain.
- Design and evaluate event-driven, service-based, microservices and API-led architectures.
- Develop reusable architecture patterns, principles and building blocks.
- Provide architectural guidance on integration, data, cloud and modernisation initiatives.
- Balance strategic architecture decisions with hands-on analysis of complex technical challenges.
- Communicate architecture recommendations clearly to engineering teams, senior stakeholders and other architects.
- Contribute to architecture communities of practice and continuously improve architecture and engineering standards.

What you bring
- Significant experience as a Solution Architect delivering large-scale transformation programmes.
- Strong experience designing event-driven, service-based, microservices and REST/API architectures.
- Strong understanding of modern technology and delivery environments, ideally including Azure, Linux, Java and/or OpenShift.
- Experience working across complex integration and data landscapes.
- Experience working with both modern platforms and legacy technology environments is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of Agile and DevOps delivery, including CI/CD; experience with scaled Agile environments such as SAFe is advantageous.
- Experience operating across multiple teams, functions and locations within complex organisations.
- Ability to move comfortably between strategic architecture, target-state design and detailed technical problem solving.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach.
- Confidence challenging assumptions and influencing technical and senior business stakeholders.
- Knowledge of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Open Agile Architecture is advantageous.
