Lead Strategy & Planning Analyst – Retail Media

Location: London, England, United Kingdom

A leading global online delivery and e-commerce platform is seeking a Lead Strategy & Planning Analyst – Retail Media to drive strategic decision-making and commercial growth through advanced analytics. This is a senior role that combines business strategy, data analysis, and cross-functional leadership to optimise retail media performance and advertising revenue.

Working closely with Finance, Product, Sales, and Marketing teams, you will transform complex data into actionable insights, influence senior stakeholders, and help shape the future of a rapidly growing retail media business.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Commercial Analytics

  • Lead analytical initiatives across retail media workstreams to support strategic business objectives.
  • Translate large and complex datasets into clear, actionable commercial insights.
  • Deliver strategic recommendations to senior leadership to optimise advertising revenue and business performance.
  • Develop analytical frameworks that improve data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as the primary analytical partner between Finance, Product, Sales, and Marketing teams.
  • Drive alignment across departments by providing consistent reporting, insights, and performance analysis.
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities for revenue growth and operational improvements.
  • Present data-driven recommendations to influence commercial strategy and business priorities.

Data & Performance Optimisation

  • Build scalable reporting solutions and performance dashboards.
  • Improve data quality, reporting consistency, and analytical processes across teams.
  • Leverage advanced analytics and AI-driven tools to enhance commercial performance and retail media capabilities.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and identify trends that support strategic planning.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in strategy, commercial analytics, business intelligence, or planning.
  • Strong ability to analyse large datasets and communicate actionable business insights.
  • Advanced SQL skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Google Sheets or Excel.
  • Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance analytical thinking and business priorities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience within retail media, digital advertising, e-commerce, marketplaces, or technology businesses.
  • Knowledge of Python or other analytical programming languages.
  • Experience working with AI-enabled analytics or automation tools.
  • Background collaborating with Product, Finance, Sales, and Marketing teams.
  • Experience developing commercial reporting frameworks and strategic planning processes.
