About The Role
Optimus Plus are looking for an experienced Lead Structural Engineer to join our team in Aberdeen or Glasgow on a full-time, on-going contract basis. Our ideal candidate would be a chartered engineer with significant previous experience in a Lead position. This role is required to assist with various activities of our structural department, including client focal point, managing detailed design scopes and acting as deputy to the Head of Department.

Key duties:
- Focal Point for engineering activities
- Identify the scope of work required
- Input to project plans
- Identify areas of concern during any project or study
- Produce cost-effective engineering solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value
- Ability to address operational and maintenance issues in the design and liaise with colleagues for the best solution
- Undertake surveys, both onshore and offshore

About You
Our ideal candidate will enjoy team working, will be customer and quality focused, can use their own initiative and will be responsive to our business and client needs.
We’d like you to have a degree in a relevant subject and significant previous experience in detail design with an understanding of other disciplines. You need to have experience and an interest in working with AutoDesk products and will have experience in managing and developing others.
