Role: Lead Subsea Cable Installation Engineer (HVDC & Offshore Wind)
About the Client:
Our client is a $5bn global EPCI contractor delivering major transmission, distribution, offshore wind, and renewable energy projects worldwide. Following significant growth across Europe, they are expanding their engineering team and are seeking a Lead Subsea Installation Engineer to support major HVDC and offshore transmission projects.
Based within their European HQ, you'll join a rapidly growing business that has increased regional revenue from $100m to over $2bn in five years, offering excellent long-term career progression and exposure to some of Europe's most significant renewable energy developments.
The Role:
As a Lead Subsea Installation Engineer, you will lead the design, engineering, and installation planning of HV and HVDC subsea cable systems, supporting projects from concept and tender stage through to offshore installation and commissioning.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on large-scale offshore wind and transmission projects while playing a key role in the global energy transition.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the engineering and design of subsea HV/HVDC cable systems across all project phases.
- Develop cable routes, protection solutions, installation methodologies, and burial assessments.
- Perform feasibility studies, technical assessments, and risk analyses.
- Support tenders and bids, including technical proposals, installation strategies, and cost estimates.
- Prepare and review installation procedures, method statements, and engineering calculations.
- Work closely with project teams, clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and vessel operators.
- Provide technical support during offshore installation campaigns.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, client requirements, and HSEQ procedures.
- Participate in design reviews, constructability assessments, and installation readiness reviews.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in cable installation and system design.

About You:
- Experience in subsea cable engineering, cable installation, cable system design, or offshore transmission projects.
- Strong knowledge of HV/HVDC cable systems, installation methods, cable protection, and burial techniques.
- Experience delivering export cables, interconnectors, offshore wind transmission systems, or similar subsea power cable projects.
- Knowledge of route engineering, offshore survey data, geotechnical assessments, and cable installation analysis.
- Background within EPC/EPCI, offshore wind, marine construction, transmission, or renewable energy sectors.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
- Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) is advantageous.
