Description
Lead Talent Acquisition Coordinator
About The Company
Joining our team, you’ll play an active part in helping to deliver meaningful impact. At Oxoid Remel Microbiology, acquired from Thermo Fisher Scientific, we play a crucial role in accurate identification and targeted treatment for diseases, ensuring food and beverage safety, and supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing integrity. Our products and services are designed to meet the highest standards of quality and performance, helping our customers achieve their objectives efficiently and effectively.
About The Role
As a Lead Talent Acquisition Coordinator, you’ll support the global Talent Acquisition team by coordinating recruitment activity across the hiring lifecycle and acting as the internal connection point between AGS, recruiters, hiring managers, HR and other recruitment service providers. You’ll play an important role in providing visibility, clear ownership and follow-through from vacancy initiation through selection, pre-employment checks, offer and onboarding handover. The role is based on site in Basingstoke, UK.
What You'll Do
- Recruitment coordination: Coordinate global recruitment activity from requisition initiation and approval through interview, selection, offer, pre-employment checks and handover to onboarding, maintaining oversight of open requisitions and outstanding actions.
- Partner and stakeholder management: Act as the key day-to-day connection between AGS, recruiters, HR teams and hiring managers, providing clear updates, following up dependencies and escalating issues or risks where appropriate.
- Candidate and offer support: Coordinate interview activity and candidate communications as required and ensure offer information, approvals and documentation are coordinated accurately and efficiently.
- Pre-employment screening: Coordinate and administer background and pre-employment checks through First Advantage, monitoring progress, maintaining accurate records and escalating delays, discrepancies or issues while protecting candidate confidentiality.
- Data, reporting and governance: Maintain accurate recruitment records, trackers and systems; produce regular recruitment reporting and management information; and support recruitment governance in line with agreed processes, policies and relevant UK employment and data protection requirements.
- Continuous improvement and projects: Identify recruitment bottlenecks and process gaps, work with HR, recruiters, AGS and other partners on practical improvements, and support volume hiring, campaigns, process changes, system improvements and other talent projects.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
