Hawkwood is partnering with a high-growth, VC-backed, technology business to hire a Lead Talent Partner.

Our client has built an integrated system that helps businesses simplify operations, grow sustainably and deliver exceptional customer experiences. They are scaling rapidly and building a high-performance culture where ambition, pace and customer impact go hand in hand.

As part of this next chapter, they are looking for an experienced Technical Talent leader to take ownership of Engineering hiring, lead an established team and build deeply trusted relationships with senior Engineering leadership.

The opportunity

This is a senior, high-ownership role sitting at the intersection of Talent strategy, Engineering leadership and hands-on technical hiring.

You’ll partner directly with senior Engineering leaders, becoming their go-to person for everything talent-related – from workforce planning and hiring strategy through to assessment, talent density, market intelligence and solving difficult hiring challenges. You’ll also lead an established small team, with the potential to grow the team further as hiring increases.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This is a genuine player-coach role, so while leadership and strategy are a significant part of the remit, you’ll remain close to the craft and personally own some of the most important senior and specialist Engineering searches.

What you'll be doing:

  • Own the Engineering hiring strategy across multiple hubs, across London and Europe.
  • Build trusted relationships with Engineering leaders, becoming a genuine partner rather than simply a recruitment service.
  • Translate Engineering growth plans into a clear workforce and hiring strategy.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team, setting priorities and creating an environment where they can do their best work.
  • Use data, market insight and storytelling to influence senior stakeholders and challenge thinking around hiring.
  • Own hiring performance and provide senior leadership with a clear view of pipelines, challenges, trade-offs and outcomes.
  • Continue evolving assessment, interview design, calibration and hiring processes as the organisation scales.
