SALARY: £85,493 - £110,000

LOCATION: Edinburgh

HOURS: Full time, 2-year fixed term contract

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid

About this opportunity

Help shape the resilience of services that support millions of customer payments every day.

We're looking for a Lead Technical Application Service Specialist to provide technical service leadership across our Payments Platform. You'll play a key role in protecting customers and colleagues by ensuring critical payment services remain resilient, secure and well controlled.

Working across engineering, product, operations, suppliers and business teams, you'll help drive the evolution of our production services towards more automated, observable and data-driven ways of working. This is an opportunity to influence service strategy, strengthen operational resilience and deliver meaningful improvements to customer outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical leadership to improve service reliability, availability and recoverability across critical payment services.
  • Leading complex incident recovery and service restoration activities across internal and supplier-supported environments.
  • Driving problem management and root cause analysis activities to reduce recurring service issues.
  • Improving operational processes, controls and service governance to strengthen production stability.
  • Using service data, monitoring and observability insights to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Partnering with engineering and product teams to embed resilience, scalability and operational readiness into service design and delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
