Lead Technical Architect

Amber Labs | Permanent Remote with occasional travel to London Active SC Clearance Required

About Amber Labs

Amber Labs is a fast-growing UK technology consultancy delivering digital transformation across enterprise, government, and regulated sectors. We specialise in cloud, data, software engineering, user-centred design, and AI, helping organisations deliver better services through modern technology and agile ways of working.

We're currently supporting the delivery of critical digital services within a major UK government programme and are looking for an experienced Lead Technical Architect to join our growing architecture practice.

This role will provide technical leadership across a complex Oracle technology estate, helping shape architectural strategy, improve governance, and support the ongoing modernisation of critical public sector services.

The Role

As a Lead Technical Architect, you will provide strategic technical leadership across a large and complex Oracle estate, ensuring architectural decisions support secure, resilient, and sustainable digital services.

  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, delivery teams, suppliers, and senior stakeholders.
  • Understand the existing technology landscape, produce key architectural artefacts, and guide future technical direction.
  • Play a key role in managing technical risk, improving governance, and supporting long-term transformation across legacy and modern platforms.

The role will involve working across a complex Oracle environment, including Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), Oracle SOA, and Oracle Intelligent Advisor, alongside numerous integrations with internal digital services and external third-party suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Architecture

  • Lead technical architecture across a complex Oracle technology estate, providing strategic direction and technical leadership.
  • Guide and mentor architects and technical specialists, supporting high-quality architectural decision making.
  • Develop and maintain architecture artefacts that document the current and future technology landscape.
  • Support the definition of target architectures that align with organisational objectives and long-term digital strategy.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
