Description:
Our not-so-secret sauce.
Award-winning, inclusive, top workplace culture doesn’t happen overnight. It’s the result of hard work by extraordinary people. The industry’s brightest talent drive our efforts to deliver purposeful work and meaningful impact every day. Learn more about what makes us different and how you can make your mark as a Lead Technical Architect, Salesforce Platform at Marsh McLennan Agency.
Marsh McLennan Agency provides industry-leading advisories and solutions that help clients navigate an increasingly complex world. We combine deep expertise, innovative thinking, and a commitment to excellence to deliver meaningful outcomes for our colleagues, clients, and communities.
A day in the life.
As our Lead Technical Architect, Salesforce Platform on the Salesforce team, you’ll provide hands-on technical leadership and architecture direction for Marsh McLennan Agency’s Salesforce ecosystem. You’ll partner closely with business stakeholders, platform leadership, administrators, developers, and enterprise technology teams to design scalable, secure, and sustainable Salesforce solutions.
In this role, you will help shape and maintain the technical roadmap for MMA’s Salesforce platform, while providing architecture oversight across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Pardot / Marketing Cloud Account Engagement, integrations, workflow automation, reporting, and related platform capabilities.
You’ll play a key role in strengthening Salesforce delivery by establishing technical standards, guiding solution design, reviewing configuration and code approaches, supporting DevOps and release management practices, and helping ensure the platform evolves in alignment with business needs and enterprise technology standards.
This role is ideal for someone who can operate as both a strategic architecture partner and a hands-on technical leader — someone who can challenge assumptions, guide technical teams, mentor administrators and developers, and help bring structure, governance, and delivery discipline to a complex Salesforce environment.
Our future colleague.
We’d love to meet you if your professional track record includes these skills:
- Significant experience as a Salesforce Technical Architect or Lead Salesforce Architect in a complex enterprise environment.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Salesforce platform architecture.
- Experience translating business needs into scalable Salesforce solutions across configuration, Flow, Apex, Lightning Web Components, data model, security, reporting, and integrations.
- Demonstrated ability to define and govern Salesforce architecture standards, design patterns, naming conventions, release standards, and documentation expectations.
- Experience guiding Salesforce administrators, developers, consultants, vendors, and distributed delivery teams.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce security, sharing model, profiles, permission sets, roles, data quality, and platform performance considerations.
- Experience designing integrations between Salesforce and enterprise systems using APIs, middleware, event-driven patterns, or integration platforms such as MuleSoft.
- Familiarity with Salesforce DevOps, environment management, release management, deployment tools, and change control processes.
- Ability to review technical designs, challenge solution approaches, and ensure solutions are maintainable, scalable, and aligned with platform standards.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical tradeoffs in business terms.
- Experience partnering with delivery leads, product owners, business analysts, and QA/UAT stakeholders to support predictable solution delivery.
- Ability to identify technical debt, assess platform risk, and help prioritize modernization activities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
