Lead Technology Delivery Manager
As a Lead Technology Delivery Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping how Enterprise Services delivers critical technology products and services across the Home Office.
You’ll lead across multiple teams and a complex delivery portfolio, creating the conditions for high performance, removing barriers and building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, suppliers and delivery partners.
Using data and insight, you’ll strengthen delivery disciplines, improve visibility of progress, risks and dependencies, and help teams work in a more joined-up and effective way.
This is a highly influential role with significant autonomy. You’ll help shape portfolio-wide governance, prioritisation and assurance, giving senior leaders the clarity and confidence they need to make informed decisions across a growing and increasingly complex delivery landscape.
Most importantly, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact. You’ll help reduce fragmentation, strengthen consistency and support Enterprise Services to mature into a high-performing delivery organisation capable of delivering sustainably at scale.
If you’re an experienced technology delivery leader who enjoys working across complexity, influencing at senior level and improving how delivery works across multiple teams, we’d encourage you to read on and find out more.
What you will do
- Take ownership of delivery across multiple teams, ensuring technology products and services are delivered successfully in complex and ambiguous environments. Use and coach the most appropriate delivery approaches, helping teams solve problems, balance competing user needs and continuously improve performance.
- Lead delivery within agreed time and cost constraints, maintaining realistic plans and ensuring stakeholders receive clear, accurate and timely updates. Engage effectively with relevant governance and provide confidence around progress, issues and decisions.
- Build and enable high-performing teams, creating the conditions for effective collaboration across team boundaries. Monitor how teams are working together, identify barriers and resolve issues that could affect joined-up delivery.
- Identify and manage delivery risks, ensuring their impact and likelihood are understood and that effective mitigations are in place. Bring in specialist expertise where needed to support informed decision-making.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships, understanding different stakeholder groups, their priorities and their needs. Develop effective engagement strategies and support teams to deliver against them.
- Work proactively with suppliers, monitoring performance, resolving issues collaboratively and helping to strengthen supplier management processes across the delivery landscape.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
