Lead Unified Comms Engineer
Hays Recruitment have partnered with Leicestershire County Council in the search for a Lead Unified Comms Engineer.
As the SME in the team, you will own and be responsible for the provision of maintenance, support, development and consultancy for specific technology stacks within the Unified Comms infrastructure to ensure that IT system services remain stable, reliable and resilient in a cost-effective manner.
Mentoring and guiding technical specialists and other technical staff is key as part of the knowledge-sharing ethos within the team.
You will also be expected to co-ordinate small teams of technicians to deliver new services and service improvements.
Your new role will involve:
- Own, support, install and implement IT infrastructure solutions related to Unified Comms and Corporate email delivery.
- Liaise with team members, the wider IT department and our customers.
- Advise on technical and security standards to ensure compliance, security of systems and services to maintain high service availability.

What you need to succeed
- In-depth experience of Unified Comms, ideally in a public sector organisation.
- Exchange online management (6000 users and several thousand other mailbox resources).
- Third party SEG management.
- DKIM, SPF, DMARC management.
- Demonstrable experience in messaging, Exchange and O365.
- Demonstrable experience and understanding of secure email gateways.
- Strong understanding of email routing.
- Ability to demonstrate awareness and manage the end-to-end Unified Comms stack.
- The ability to manage the life cycle and become an expert in your tech stack.

There will be occasional out of hours requirements for planned works or major incidents, therefore you will need to be within an hour of the location and have your own transport.
