Roles and responsibilities
- Increases profitability by driving design changes or substituting suppliers reducing overall BOM cost;
- Facilitate cross functional workshops to develop cost reduction ideas; (various teams like Engg, Supplier, Commodity, Purchasing)
- Drive design changes through engineering systems using established engineering processes (e.g. CPR, SRC, TRB, and CRB & TCCB).
- Lead technical discussions and cross-functional project meetings;
- Work with the Test and Validation group to plan and maintain timing to validate the cost-reduction ideas;
- Present cost reduction ideas to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support Design to Cost by generating design alternatives to achieve the product cost targets.
- Provide relevant reporting for cost decisions (status reports of ongoing activities, progress towards savings target implementation, and forward workshop planning).
- Knowledge on Hardware Design, Alternate component selection, Datasheet comparison.
- Knowledge on DRBFM, FMEA process, WCA.
- Knowledge on Power Module, ECU module design Experience.
- Knowledge on Analog circuit, Mixed Signal, Microcontrollers, Microprocessor.
- Knowledge on PCB prototyping, Assembling and mechanical design.

Candidate profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics & communication Engineering with general technical understanding of Electronic/Mechanical components is required;
- Min. 10+ years of previous design engineering experience within electronics and electronics related products (Power module, ECU design);
- Should have experience in ADAS /HPC products to run VAVE analysis
- Experience in working with Onsite customer support activity
- Previous cost reduction by design improvement experience is desired
- Flexible, open-minded, self-motivated and with an ability to lead teams without direct authority
- Fluent in English language.
Must have skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering with general technical understanding of Electronic/Mechanical components is required;
- Should have knowledge about SAVE methodology (To run complete VAVE Process)
- Min. 10+ years of previous design engineering experience within electronics and electronics related products (Power module, ECU design, ADAS design);
- Previous cost reduction by design improvement experience is desired;
- Program management role or product management role.
- Lead technical discussions and cross-functional project meetings.
- Good communication skill.
- Flexible, open-minded, self-motivated and with an ability to lead VAVE project.

- Experience in negotiating cost delta for any engineering change.
- Automotive experience.
