Lead Veterinary Surgeon

Full Time | Permanent

40 hours per week - No OOH, Saturday Mornings on a rota basis

Salary: Up to £75,000 DOE

CPD Budget

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and compassionate Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team at Medivet & Partners Somerton.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a veterinary surgeon who is ready to take the next step in their career and play an important role in supporting both the clinical and wider development of the practice.

The Role

As Lead Veterinary Surgeon, you will provide clinical leadership within the practice, working closely with the wider veterinary and nursing team to deliver excellent standards of patient and client care.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide clinical leadership and support to the veterinary team
  • Encourage a positive, collaborative and supportive working environment
  • Maintain and develop high clinical standards across the practice
  • Support the development, mentoring and coaching of colleagues
  • Help identify opportunities to improve clinical services and practice processes
  • Build strong relationships with clients and provide excellent patient care
  • Continue your own clinical development and areas of interest

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a confident and approachable veterinary surgeon who enjoys working as part of a team and is passionate about delivering high-quality veterinary care.

You will ideally have:

  • RCVS registered
  • Experience working in small animal practice
  • Strong clinical and communication skills
  • A genuine passion for patient and client care
  • The ability to support, motivate and develop colleagues
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills
  • A proactive and positive approach to clinical and practice development

Previous leadership or mentoring experience would be beneficial, but support will be available for the right candidate.
