Salary: Up to £75,000 DOE plus up to £5,000 welcome bonus
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Veterinary Surgeon at our growing clinic in the market town of Wymondham.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, to grow and push the practice towards a centre of clinical excellence, where all clinical staff utilise their varied skillset, and support and encourage colleagues to unlock and develop their own potential.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in either surgery, internal medicine and/or ultrasound. However, what is more important to us is a strong leader, who can engage and encourage the team in order to create change and direction in our ever-changing industry.
Practice Highlights
The Wymondham branch is a 4 FTE site with a strong and organised nurse team. We offer a variety of GP operations and work closely with the Dogs Trust too, meaning that we see a broad variety of routine and more complex cases. Chapelfield Partnership has 4 other branches, meaning there is plenty of support around, as well as interesting case load and skillset.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As Lead Veterinary Surgeon, you will be the most senior veterinary clinician within the practice, responsible for leading clinical standards, governance, and the delivery of outstanding patient and client care.
You’ll provide clinical leadership to the veterinary team, oversee complex cases, and act as the primary source of clinical guidance and decision-making within the practice. Working closely with the senior practice leadership team, you’ll support the strategic direction of the practice and drive continuous improvement in clinical quality, outcomes, and ways of working.

You Might Be a Great Fit If...
- You are a highly experienced veterinary surgeon with strong clinical expertise and a passion for leadership and clinical excellence.
- A Veterinary degree and registration with the RCVS with significant experience in small or mixed animal practice, including advanced surgical and medical capability.
- Proven experience in mentoring, coaching, and supporting veterinary colleagues.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Experience contributing to or leading clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- The ability to manage clinical complaints and provide professional guidance in complex situations.
- Professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to the highest standards of patient and client care.
