Lead S.W.U.G.’s day-to-day social media publishing and community engagement

Flexible volunteer role, remote for now with planned on-site activity in Portsmouth later. The successful applicant can begin as soon as recruitment and onboarding are complete.

What difference will you make?

Your steady, accurate social media work will help S.W.U.G. explain its plans, reach potential volunteers and build a clear, trustworthy public presence while the School Edition is being prepared. You will help the team keep approved information current and respond appropriately to the community, without presenting proposed activities or relationships as confirmed.

What are we looking for?

At least three years’ professional experience in social media marketing or managing organisational social media channels is essential. You should be able to plan and schedule content, write clear captions, adapt approved messages to different platforms, monitor engagement and use basic analytics to report what is working. You will be organised, dependable, comfortable coordinating with a Creative Lead and other volunteers, and careful with confidential information and safeguarding concerns. You must know when to pause and seek approval rather than announce an unconfirmed event, partnership or other commitment. Experience with a content calendar and digital publishing tools is useful. This is a lead for day-to-day operations, not a mandate to redesign S.W.U.G.’s brand or speak on its behalf without approval.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You will identify missing assets early and coordinate with the Creative Lead.

The role leads day-to-day social media delivery; creative direction, major brand decisions and sensitive statements remain subject to the established approval process. Please pause and escalate safeguarding concerns, complaints, unverified claims or requests to announce an event, partner, sponsor or commitment that has not been confirmed. We do not expect private one-to-one conversations with children or publication of identifiable images without appropriate authority and consent.

We are preparing for future School Edition delivery. No school, venue or event date is confirmed. Work is remote for now; any later on-site activity in Portsmouth will be planned in advance. The role is unpaid and voluntary, with an estimated 6–7 hours per week arranged flexibly, not guaranteed hours. The successful applicant can begin as soon as selection and onboarding are complete.
