We are an independent design, marketing, and digital agency with nearly 30 years behind us. We’re a friendly team and relentlessly curious, we like getting properly involved in creative problems. We work with commercial and nonprofit organizations, both large and small, and we love wit.
Role Description
You’ll work across front-end and back-end development, building everything from bespoke WordPress websites and web applications to integrations, APIs, internal tools, and digital products. You’ll be comfortable working directly from a highly polished figma mock-up or a sketch on the back of an envelope. You will support the estimating team with scoping and estimating projects, making architectural decisions, and explaining technical options clearly to clients and the wider team.
But we’re not simply looking for someone to deliver what we already know how to build.
AI is changing what developers can create, how quickly ideas can be tested, and what clients will expect from digital experiences. We want someone who is excited by that change. Someone curious enough to explore new tools, experiment with emerging possibilities, and help us turn them into practical, valuable solutions.

You won’t be expected to arrive with all the answers. We’re looking for someone who wants to join us on that journey of discovery, combining sound development experience with an open mind and the confidence to ask what could we do now that we couldn’t do before?
As the lead member of our development team, you’ll help set the standard for how we build. You’ll mentor and inspire our small but growing team, review code, and solve the more complex technical challenges.
Ultimately, we want you to help ensure epls doesn’t simply keep pace with what is possible, but leads the way.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Front-End Development and Web Design skills, including modern HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks, and responsive, accessible UI implementation.
- Candidates should possess solid Back-End Web Development and Programming skills, with experience in server-side frameworks, databases, APIs, and performance optimization.
- Candidates should possess comprehensive Web Development skills, covering integration of front-end and back-end, version control, testing, and deployment workflows.
- Experience leading technical projects, setting development standards, and mentoring team members.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, communicate technical concepts clearly, and manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices, web accessibility guidelines, and security principles.
- Experience in an agency or multi-client environment is beneficial.
