About The Role
BT Group is developing a connected leadership development ecosystem spanning multiple leadership identities. Together, these programmes support senior leaders, future enterprise leaders and people managers with a shared leadership language, while providing experiences tailored to the needs of each audience.
This is a high-profile portfolio at the heart of BT’s leadership and culture ambitions. As the programmes move from design and mobilisation into delivery and business-as-usual operation, the focus is on turning the roadmap into consistent, high-quality experiences that are well coordinated across programme teams, business units, partners and participant populations.
We are looking for a Programme Specialist to support the Senior Manager for Leadership in the delivery and ongoing management of BT’s flagship leadership experiences.
In this role, you will translate agreed programme design and content into a high-quality participant experience, coordinate delivery across the full programme journey, and own relevant programme processes, reporting and continuous improvement activity.
This is an opportunity to play a central role in delivering leadership development at scale, supporting experiences that build leadership capability and embed BT’s leadership expectations across the organisation.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Coordinate end-to-end programme delivery, ensuring agreed designs are translated into high-quality participant experiences.
- Manage programme schedules, communications, launches, retreats, coaching, exchanges and other participant activities across the programme lifecycle.
- Work with sponsors, subject matter experts and delivery partners to coordinate effective delivery plans and participant journeys.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, People & Culture colleagues, suppliers and external partners to support successful programme delivery.
- Coordinate activity across internal and external stakeholders, managing priorities, milestones, dependencies and participant touchpoints.
- Identify and escalate delivery risks and issues, providing clear options and recommendations for resolution.
- Maintain programme plans, milestones, risks, dependencies and documentation, ensuring effective governance and delivery oversight.
- Support budget tracking, resource coordination and operational readiness across the programme lifecycle.
- Gather and analyse participant and programme data to monitor outcomes, identify insights and recommend improvements.
- Support the evaluation and ongoing improvement of leadership programmes, using participant feedback, data and external insight to enhance delivery and impact.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
