Ministerial Services are seeking expressions of interest from talented professionals who are interested in working in a Ministerial Office in the 55th Executive. These roles offer a rare opportunity to work at the heart of government, contributing to decisions and initiatives that have a direct impact on New Zealand communities while gaining experience in one of the country's most dynamic and unique working environments.
The people leader of the Minister’s office is responsible for developing and maintaining a high performing team, who will provide exemplary support to their Minister.
They have overall management responsibility including staff management, financial management and reporting, administrative support services and business/process improvement initiatives. They are responsible for setting the culture, productivity, and success of the office.
This role requires people and leadership skills, and the ability to foster a positive culture within your office and across the Government.

Key skills:
- Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong political judgement, discretion and risk awareness.
- Sound knowledge of government, Cabinet and parliamentary processes.
- Experience working within complex public sector frameworks.
- Strong financial, operational and office management capability.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with Ministers and key stakeholders.
- Excellent written, verbal and influencing skills.
- Ability to prioritise competing demands in a fast-paced environment.

These positions are event-based employment agreements, with employment linked to the three-year Parliamentary term.
