Job Description
Are you a highly skilled Diesel or Plant Mechanic looking to take the next step in your career? Do you enjoy mentoring others, solving complex technical problems, and leading by example?
CEA is seeking an experienced Leading Hand to join our growing Service team in Wingfield. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys balancing technical work with team coordination, while helping deliver outstanding service outcomes for our customers.
Working across both the workshop and the field, you'll play a key role in servicing and repairing construction and mobile equipment, supporting technicians, coordinating workflow, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and customer service are achieved.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Leading Hand, you'll be a trusted technical expert and a go-to support for the wider service team.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Performing servicing, maintenance and repairs on new and existing equipment in both workshop and field environments
- Diagnosing faults and identifying effective repair solutions
- Allocating work to technicians and coordinating external contractors where required
- Providing technical guidance, coaching and day-to-day support to service technicians
- Monitoring productivity, including quoted hours versus actual hours worked
- Communicating job progress, costs and completion timeframes with customers
- Assessing warranty validity and ensuring repair orders are processed correctly
- Working closely with the Parts team to ensure timely availability of parts and components
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work environment
- Ensuring compliance with WHS requirements, quality standards and company procedures

We're looking for a motivated and experienced tradesperson who enjoys leadership, teamwork and delivering quality workmanship.
To Be Successful, You'll Have
- Trade qualifications as a Diesel Mechanic, Plant Mechanic or similar
- Strong experience servicing and repairing construction, earthmoving or mobile equipment
- Previous experience as a Leading Hand, Senior Technician or similar leadership role
- Advanced fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities
- The ability to lead, mentor and support a team of technicians
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach
- A current driver's licence
- A genuine commitment to safety and leading by example
