Finlay Jude are partnering with a leading water utilities provider to recruit experienced Leakage Technicians to support the ongoing reduction of water loss across the clean water network.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team dedicated to improving network performance, reducing leakage and helping safeguard water resources for future generations. Working across a variety of network environments, you will utilise industry-leading leak detection technology to accurately identify and locate leaks while supporting operational and repair teams in delivering a more efficient water network.

About The Role

As a Leakage Technician, you will be responsible for detecting, investigating and accurately locating leaks across the water distribution network. Using a range of specialist leak detection equipment, you will play a key role in identifying underground leaks, reducing water loss and supporting successful repair activities.

You will work independently and as part of a wider network operations team, carrying out surveys, analysing network conditions and delivering accurate data that contributes to improved operational performance and customer service.

Key Responsibilities As a Leakage Technician

  • Carry out detailed surveys to locate and assess water leakage, including on large diameter mains.
  • Support repair teams by providing precise leak location data.
  • Conduct survey and project work beyond standard leak detection tasks.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately, including timesheets, survey forms, and leak reports.
  • Perform Step Testing to identify areas of high leakage within the network—typically undertaken at night for accuracy and minimal customer disruption.

Leakage Technician Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence
  • EUSR Water Hygiene certification
  • Unit 2 Street Works qualification
