Optiflow supports businesses across manufacturing, engineering, logistics, warehousing, and other operational environments, focusing on areas such as process improvement, root cause analysis, performance analysis, and project management. Based in Gloucestershire and the South West UK, Optiflow aims to make Continuous Improvement support accessible to businesses of all sizes and turn operational challenges into measurable results.

Role Description

The Lean Consultant is a full-time, on-site role based in Gloucester, responsible for driving Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence initiatives for client organizations. Day-to-day tasks include:

The Lean Consultant will:

  • Design and implement Lean solutions
  • Support value stream mapping
  • Perform root cause analysis
  • Guide teams through problem-solving activities

The role also involves:

  • Coaching client staff in Lean tools and behaviors
  • Preparing clear documentation and reports
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure sustainable results and effective project delivery

Qualifications

  • Lean Management and Continuous Improvement
    • Strong skills in Lean Management and Continuous Improvement, including practical experience applying Lean tools and methodologies.
  • Operational Excellence and Performance Improvement
    • Skills in Operational Excellence and performance improvement, with the ability to measure results and optimize processes.
  • Consulting and Management Consulting
    • Skills in Consulting and Management Consulting, including stakeholder engagement, diagnostic assessment, and structured recommendations.
  • Coaching and Change Facilitation
    • Skills in Coaching and change facilitation, with the ability to train teams and support behavior and culture shifts.
  • Relevant experience in manufacturing, engineering, logistics, warehousing, or similar operational environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation abilities, including familiarity with root cause analysis and process mapping.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, practical way.
  • Ability to work on-site with clients, manage multiple projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, operations management, business, or a related field is beneficial.
  • Formal training or certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement (e.g., Green Belt or Black Belt) is an advantage.
