Welding/Fabrication Apprentice Opportunity

Opportunity for a welding/fabrication apprentice with a local company. You will carry out work safely, meet quality standards in a fast-paced and efficient processing environment.

Duties

  • Using various tools/machinery by following health and safety procedures
  • Measuring/marking of the steel for cutting/drilling following specifications

The successful candidate will shadow a skilled fabricator, benefiting from their many years of skill and expertise and, work towards being able to (but not limited to):

  • Using various tools and machinery by following health and safety procedures at all times
  • Measuring and marking of the steel for cutting or drilling following design specifications
  • Fabricating jobs from drawings
  • Welding using multiple methods such as MIG and TIG

Other duties will include, keeping the workspace clean and tidy and other ad-hoc duties where required.

Training course:

Lean manufacturing operative (level 2)

Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative apprenticeship standard which includes:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing (knowledge and skills)
  • Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
  • Learning will take place in the workplace with the need to attend training with NSEGTA.

Desirable qualifications:

GCSE or equivalent in:

  • English (grade A-C / 4)
  • Maths (grade A-C / 4)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
