Salary: £29,838 to £32,579 pro rata per annum (£25,363 to £27,692 per annum)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week, part year working 36 weeks and 1 day
Location: Ellesmere Port and Chester Campuses
We are seeking an inspiring individual to join our team across our Ellesmere Port and Chester Campus as Learner Wellbeing and Inclusion Coach.
This role includes supporting a caseload of SEND and disadvantaged learners to overcome barriers to learning, participation, attendance, wellbeing and achievement. Through one-to-one or group activities, you will provide interventions and track their progress.

As Learner Wellbeing and Inclusion Coach you will have an understanding of the interests and needs of young people from varied backgrounds and will be able to adapt to their needs. You will be creative in ways that enable them to access support and wellbeing interventions.
Do you have great communication skills, enjoy helping young people and supporting them?
This could be through:
- Previous work in education or young people’s services
- Previous SEND experience
- Youth / community groups
- Voluntary group work
- Charity work
and have the following skills or experience?
- Able to collaborate with others
- Can engage young people from varied backgrounds
- Able to facilitate groups and one-to-one sessions
- Have excellent organisation skills
- Able to generate links and maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the Safeguarding and Wellbeing Team Leader, Personal Development Tutors and curriculum areas to identify learners (16-19 years old, studying English and/or Maths or have an EHCP) ‘at risk’ of not achieving their learning goals.
- Support learners where problems of attendance/disaffection/safety and personal circumstances are threatening their chances of successful achievement.
- Provide sustainable strategies to encompass improving their whole lives and leave them with strategies they can continue to work on for life.
- Support learners and explore a range of self-management measures for anxiety, self-harm, exams stress, sexual health, relationships with others and emotional regulation.
- Provide a managed drop-in facility and assist learners who request individual wellbeing and safeguarding support.
- Establish excellent relationships with external agencies.
- Ensure all documentation is to the advised format and quality and that records are maintained in accordance with GDPR requirements.

Key Person Specification Requirements:
- Level 4 qualification in a relevant subject (or equivalent)
- GCSE Grade C (4/5) in Maths and English (or equivalent)
- Experience of working in a supportive environment
- Experience of working and communicating effectively with young people who are disadvantaged and/or vulnerable
- Ability to develop relationships with external agencies
- Excellent working knowledge of safeguarding procedures
- Excellent digital skills
- Enhanced DBS check
