The Vacancy

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Learning and Development Advisor to join our Learning and Development team.

This is a varied role where you’ll combine learning design and facilitation with project management, stakeholder engagement, learning operations, measurement and reporting. You’ll play an important part in delivering our Learning and Development strategy and wider People Strategy, creating learning solutions that support individual, team and organisational performance.

You’ll work across different areas of the firm, building strong relationships with colleagues, people leaders and HR Business Partners to understand learning needs and deliver high-quality development opportunities. You’ll also have the opportunity to bring new ideas and emerging learning approaches and technologies into the way we support learning across Hymans Robertson.

The role can be based in Glasgow or Edinburgh, with some travel between our offices required.

What will your role look like?

As a Learning and Development Advisor, you’ll design, deliver and evaluate engaging learning programmes, both face-to-face and virtually. You’ll research learning topics and turn these into high-quality solutions that respond to the needs of our people and the business.

You’ll work closely with business leaders, HR Business Partners and colleagues across Learning and Development, taking ownership of projects and managing multiple priorities, stakeholders and deadlines. You’ll use learning data, feedback and evaluation to understand effectiveness, demonstrate impact and continuously improve the learning experience.

You’ll also act as an advocate for learning and development across the firm, helping create an environment where personal, professional and purposeful growth is accessible to everyone.

Though this is a varied role, your key tasks will include:

  • Designing, delivering and evaluating high-quality learning programmes, both face-to-face and virtually.
  • Researching learning topics and developing engaging programmes covering areas such as influencing skills, time management, delegation and feedback.
  • Working with business leaders and HR Business Partners to understand learning and development needs across individuals and teams.
  • Contributing to key Learning and Development projects that support the firm’s strategic priorities.
  • Gathering programme feedback, using data and measuring the impact and effectiveness of learning activities.
  • Supporting the planning and tracking of business unit and individual development needs.
  • Helping to maintain high standards across digital and face-to-face learning, suppliers and curated learning materials.
  • Keeping up to date with emerging thinking and best practice across learning, psychology and human resources.
  • Building collaborative relationships and networks across the firm, helping to make learning accessible to everyone.
  • Championing learning, development and growth and helping colleagues see Hymans Robertson as a place where they can grow and do their best work.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
