Learning and Development Consultant
Contract and Interim Recruitment is preferable | Manchester
£40,000 plus 10% bonus, 3 days in office, 2 from home
The Opportunity
We are excited to be partnering exclusively with a well-established recruitment business on this newly created mandate. This business focuses on hiring across financial services, professional services, and commerce and industry, with a relationship-led approach during hiring. As part of their continued investment in people, they are now looking to bring in a Learning and Development Consultant to sit within their Manchester office and take ownership of developing their consultants throughout their recruitment journey.
This is not a typical Learning and Development hire, our client wants someone who is currently a recruiter and wanting to step into an L&D role. You will bring real, hands-on billing experience (contract recruitment within professional services strongly preferred) and use that credibility to train, coach, and mentor the next generation of consultants. No formal Learning and Development background is required, what matters is that you know what good recruitment looks like, and can teach it.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
