Minds Ahead is an innovative social enterprise reshaping school mental health by equipping education settings with the specialist knowledge, skills and networks needed to make sustainable, whole‑school improvements. Since our inception in 2017, we have built a strong and sector‑leading track record of impact.

We co-founded the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools, the UK’s first university centre dedicated to mental health in education. We researched and designed a national School Mental Health Quality Award, now used by more than 2,500 schools to evaluate and strengthen their practice. We created and delivered the world’s first Master’s in School Leadership of Mental Health, now in its sixth successful year, alongside a suite of innovative mental health training programmes that have supported over 5,000 colleagues across the UK and internationally. Our work includes the design and delivery of specialist school mental health qualifications, accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health, and we regularly chair and speak at national conferences shaping the future of mental health in education. Minds Ahead has been recognised through multiple awards from Social Enterprise UK, UnLtd and SE100, reflecting our commitment to social impact and sector leadership.

At the heart of our mission is an unwavering focus on the realities of school life. We know that schools and colleges, alongside their governors, leaders, teachers and wider staff, are already doing exceptional work to support the mental health of children and young people. We also know that this vital work requires high‑quality support, evidence‑informed resources and specialist training and development. Minds Ahead exists to provide exactly that: empowering schools to improve, learn from one another and embed sustainable, mental‑health‑informed practice for the next generation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
