Purpose of the Role
To help coordinate, develop and improve the company’s training and development activity by supporting training records, funding administration, course bookings, compliance tracking, learning systems and reporting. The role will work closely with managers, employees, operatives, apprentices, training providers and external partners to make sure learning is well organised, accessible, effective and aligned to business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the coordination of training and development activities for employees and operatives including apprentices.
- Book training courses, assessments and development activities, ensuring employees have the right learning at the right time.
- Maintain accurate training records, certificates, compliance documentation and attendance information.
- Assist with the administration of CITB grants, apprenticeship funding, training claims and related documentation.
- Support the implementation and day-to-day use of the company’s Learning Management System or learning platform.
- Produce reports on training activity, compliance, funding utilisation and learning engagement.
- Identify opportunities to improve how learning and development is planned, communicated and delivered across the business.
- Support engagement with digital learning, skills development and workforce development initiatives.
- Contribute ideas to improve employee and operative development pathways, succession planning and career progression.

Who This Role Would Suit
This role is suitable for an ambitious graduate or early career professional, who is organised, curious and interested in how people learn, develop and build skills at work. It would particularly suit someone who enjoys working with data and systems, communicating with different people, solving problems and helping others access development opportunities.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong organisational skills with good attention to detail.
- Confident communicator who can build relationships with employees, operatives, managers and external providers.
- Interest in training and development, apprenticeships, early careers or workforce skills.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and willing to learn new digital systems and learning platforms.
- Analytical mindset, with the ability to work with records, reports and data.
- Proactive and willing to suggest improvements to existing processes.
- Professional, approachable and committed to supporting people’s development.

What You Will Develop
- Knowledge of learning and development operations within a practical, operational business environment.
- Experience of training coordination, compliance, funding administration and reporting.
- Understanding of apprenticeships, CITB funding, grant claims and workforce skills planning.
- Confidence using and improving learning systems, dashboards and management information.
- Stakeholder management skills through working with managers, operatives, employees, apprentices and external partners.
