Role overview

We are recruiting a Learning and Development Executive to work within the Learning and Development (L&D) team, which comprises one Head of L&D, one Senior Manager, three Managers, one IT Training Manager, three Advisers, two IT Trainers, and one Administrator. The team forms part of the wider Knowledge and Learning department based in the firm’s London office.

The L&D team works on a broad range of learning initiatives across the firm. From legal to skills training, we look after the development needs of lawyers, members of Business Services and clients. We are highly regarded within the firm for our solutions-focussed approach and attention to detail.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and confident individual to work in a fast-paced L&D team. This varied role involves coordinating legal and business skills training, along with other members of the team. The job will involve contact with the firm’s partners, lawyers and members of Business Services as well as a key role in various ongoing team projects. The individual must have strong administrative skills and be proactive in managing a varied workload.

The L&D Executive will report into a Senior Knowledge and Learning Manager but will be expected to work with the entire team to provide excellent client service.

Key responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role are set out below and there may be others which are not listed. You may be required on occasion to work outside our normal working hours of 9:30am to 5:30pm.

  • Plan and coordinate legal training for qualified lawyers and trainees across the firm including the flagship programmes. This includes scheduling dates and booking rooms/facilities; liaising with speakers (internal and external); preparing materials (often under time pressure); providing on-the ground support; collating feedback.
  • Produce regular newsletters, training updates and reports for the firm’s Corporate and Financing practice streams and Associate performance reviews.
  • Support with the coordination of the firm’s Solicitor Apprentice Training Programme.
  • Support with the coordination of the firm’s AI Training Programme.
  • Maintain relevant L&D intranet pages ensuring they are accurate and up to date.
  • Be one of the L&D team’s experts in the use of the firm’s Learning and Performance Management system (LeaP).
  • Monitor and update relevant areas of the L&D team’s budget.
  • Assist the L&D team with ad hoc projects as they arise, including the delivery of some L&D led sessions.
  • Build solid relationships within the firm, including with lawyers (at all levels of seniority) and across other Business Services teams such as HR Advisory and Responsible Business to help promote the L&D team in its advisory role to the business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
