Learning and Development Manager
£40,000 per annum, depending on experience | Permanent | 37.5 hours per week
Can you turn training into better practice and better care? Are you an engaging trainer who enjoys delivering sessions as well as shaping learning strategy?
An established specialist care provider is seeking a Learning and Development Manager to strengthen workforce skills across its mental health, nursing and social care services.
This is a varied, hands-on role with the opportunity to take ownership of learning and development, work closely with operational leaders and deliver training that makes a practical difference.

The role
You will identify development needs, create relevant learning programmes and ensure colleagues have the knowledge and confidence to apply their learning at work.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing the learning and development strategy with HR, operational managers and senior leaders.
- Personally delivering engaging classroom sessions, workshops and practical training.
- Coordinating the annual training programme, including schedules, resources and external providers.
- Monitoring mandatory training completion and compliance, maintaining accurate records and clear management reports.
- Evaluating training effectiveness and improving programmes based on feedback and workplace outcomes.
- Keeping learning aligned with safeguarding requirements, regulatory changes and best practice.
- Covering two sites Blackpool and Fleetwood
About you
You will be an experienced learning and development professional who enjoys working directly with colleagues and can take ownership of a busy training function.

You will bring:
- Experience in a Learning and Development Manager, Training Manager or combined HR and learning role within the care sector.
- A strong record of designing, delivering and evaluating workplace training.
- Confident facilitation skills, with the ability to adapt sessions to different roles and learning needs.
- The ability to translate policies and regulatory requirements into clear, practical guidance.
- Strong planning, communication and IT skills, including experience using training records or learning management systems.
- Flexibility to deliver training across shift patterns, including some early mornings, evenings and weekends, with time off in lieu.
A relevant learning and development or training qualification would be beneficial.
