Equilibrium Healthcare is looking for an experienced Learning and Development Manager to manage, develop and deliver training across the organisation.
This is a hands-on role combining responsibility for the overall learning and development function with the practical delivery of training. You will identify organisational and employee development needs, create and implement training programmes, oversee compliance, and evaluate whether learning is improving employee capability and effectiveness.
You will also personally deliver classroom-based and practical training alongside our existing trainers. This is therefore not solely a training coordination or administration role. You will need to be a confident and engaging facilitator who is comfortable working directly with colleagues across our services.
Working closely with employees, operational managers, HR and senior leaders, you will ensure training supports business objectives, regulatory requirements and the health and social care needs of the people within our services.
The role
As Learning and Development Manager, you will:
- Determine and assess organisational, service and employee training and development needs.
- Create and implement training strategies, materials, and programmes linked to specific business objectives.
- Personally deliver classroom-based, workshop and practical training alongside EHC’s existing trainers.
- Identify and implement training that reflects the health and social care needs of the people within our services.
- Work with employees, HR, managers and senior leaders to agree priorities and achieve training objectives.
- Plan and coordinate the annual training programme across the organisation.
- Manage employee enrolment, training schedules, venues, and the resources required to facilitate training.
- Monitor attendance, compliance, completion, and the application of learning in practice.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and success of training programmes and recommend improvements.
- Track training performance, analyse information, and produce clear management reports.
- Maintain accurate training records and manage training budgets and resources.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, employee capability, and return on investment from training.
- Keep up to date with learning trends, regulatory developments and recognised best practice.
- Support the development, consistency, and effectiveness of EHC’s wider training team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
