Learning & Development Manager – UK & Europe
London | Hybrid (2-3 days onsite per week)
I’m working with a leading global professional services consultancy to appoint an experienced Learning & Development Manager into a highly visible role supporting their UK & European business.
This is a brilliant opportunity for an L&D professional who can bring together strategy and hands-on delivery. You’ll have the autonomy to review what’s currently in place, identify where the business needs to build capability and then personally drive initiatives from concept right through to implementation.
You’ll work closely with senior leaders and the wider People team to shape a progressive learning and development offering that supports career progression, leadership capability, talent development and future business needs.
The role will include:
- Developing and delivering the wider L&D strategy across the UK & Europe
- Designing and delivering leadership and management development programmes
- Building career pathways, skills frameworks and structured development programmes
- Supporting talent, succession and wider capability initiatives
- Leading early careers, graduate and apprenticeship development
- Supporting professional qualification and accreditation pathways
- Developing coaching and mentoring initiatives across the business
- Driving digital and blended learning, including effective use of LMS and learning technology
- Using data, feedback and insight to measure learning effectiveness and continually improve the offering
- Partnering with senior stakeholders to identify skills and capability gaps and create practical solutions
- Managing external learning partners and providers
- Supporting and developing the wider L&D team

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Importantly, this isn't a role for someone who wants to operate purely at a strategic level. My client is looking for somebody who can think strategically, influence senior stakeholders and shape the direction of L&D, but who equally loves being close to the detail and making things happen.
You’ll ideally bring experience across several of the following areas:
- Leadership and management development
- Career pathways and talent development
- Early careers, apprenticeships and/or professional qualifications
- Learning technology and digital learning
- Coaching and mentoring
- Performance and capability development
- Senior stakeholder management
- Programme and project delivery
You’ll be commercially minded, engaging and credible, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of an organisation.
