We are currently recruiting for a Learning and Development Manager. Join our amazing and diverse team and grow your career with Marriott International, the world’s largest and most celebrated hospitality brand.

As a Learning and Development Manager (L&D), you’ll identify training and development needs of hotel associates, provide a consistent high standard of training to the whole hotel to achieve business goals. You will drive and communicate JW Marriott and Marriott International brand values. All training and development activities are strategically linked to the organization’s mission and vision to ensure the highest levels of operational quality assurance is achieved.

Training programs focus on a variety of topics including product knowledge, company and brand philosophy, health and safety, customer service, and leadership skills.

Experience:

  • Previous L&D experience, ideally within the hotel industry.
  • Passion for designing and delivering training whilst supporting our L&D strategies.
  • Excellent grasp of L&D trends and best practices.
  • Well-developed personal skills and project management skills.
  • User of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint – strong computer skills required.
  • Previous hotel operations experience preferred.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong communication (verbal, listening, writing) and presentation skills with the ability to engage and inspire learners.
  • Effective influence and coaching skills
  • Strong business acumen and focus on results.
  • Highly organized and efficient approach required
  • Stress tolerance, adaptability, and flexibility.
  • Maintain a high level of integrity.
  • Business acumen and focus on results.

Education or Certification:

  • Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development student (or similar) certification preferred or a willingness to study
  • Trainer certification beneficial.

What you’ll do as our newly appointed Learning and Development Manager

As the Learning and Development Manager, you will play a critical role in driving our people development strategy. You will ensure that every team member at JW Marriott Grosvenor House has the skills, knowledge, and confidence to deliver exceptional service, uphold our brand values, and grow within the company. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Orientation and service training sessions on a regular basis
  • Lead Leadership Development Programs designed for internal and external managers to develop future leaders and drive excellence in management practices.
  • Champion Apprenticeships: Act as a champion for apprenticeships by leveraging initiatives to create opportunities for skills development and career growth across the organization.
  • Organize Training Plans: Support department leaders with their design and implementation of tailored training plans for employees at all levels, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and addressing skill gaps effectively.
  • Manage and track the online training completions to ensure 100% compliance.
  • Develop and implement an organization-wide learning and development strategy.
  • Evaluation and Improvement: Monitor the impact of training programs, collect feedback, and use data to refine and improve offerings.
  • Succession Planning: Support leadership development and succession planning to build a strong pipeline of future leaders.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends in L&D to bring innovative practices to the organization.
