We’re looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Learning and Development Officer to shape and coordinate our learning, development, and wellbeing offer.

Working as part of our Policy and Performance team, you’ll play a key role in enhancing the employee experience, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring our workforce has the skills and support needed to succeed.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact during a period of significant change for local government.

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate learning and development activities across the organisation
  • Organise internal surveys and consultation activities
  • Help deliver initiatives that promote our values and behaviours
  • Oversee mandatory training compliance
  • Maintain our learning management system and monitor training outcomes
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues and external training providers

About You

You will be a highly organised, proactive individual who can manage a high workload and conflicting priorities. You will have:

  • Strong problem solving and evaluation skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Experience of analysing data and using feedback to improve services
  • A learning and development qualification or relevant experience
  • Experience of working in local government
