Job Title: Learning and Development Consultant Salesperson
Line Manager: Engagement Manager
Hours and Location: This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), hybrid role based in the West Midlands
Salary: £30,000 - £37,999+ dependent upon experience
Overview of Role:
Identify new and existing customers who can benefit from TDM’s Tech, Digital and AI Programmes to recruit, reskill and retain employees. Exceed KPI targets on starts per month.
Purpose:
TDM is seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Employer Learning & Development Consultant Salesperson to drive employer engagement across the Midlands region. This is a relationship-led business development role focused on supporting employers to overcome workforce challenges through apprenticeships, skills bootcamps, early careers recruitment and employee upskilling solutions.
You will work with a broad range of organisations, from regional SMEs to large levy-paying employers, building trusted partnerships and identifying opportunities to support organisations with embedding early careers talent, reskilling their current workforce and retention. Acting as a strategic advisor, you will provide Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) on available funding opportunities, apprenticeship levy utilisation, regional funding pots available that will support an organisation's talent development strategies.

This role will also reliably document the necessary information and eligibility evidence in order to ensure compliance and a seamless customer journey, as well as demonstrating TDM's values and culture, and collaborating with managers and colleagues on the Company's mission and vision.
Core Responsibilities:
- Engage in outbound prospecting activities with employers of all sizes predominantly in the Worcestershire and West Midlands Combined Authority regions to secure meaningful conversations with decision-makers, such as via telephone or video conference, LinkedIn, networking and email.
- Build and manage a sizeable pipeline of carefully chosen prospective employers/partners, based on the coaching programmes we offer and their industry/market/value requirements.
- Engage employer partners in digital transformation conversations, effectively demonstrating TDM’s value proposition to potential partners and, through the process of an organisational training needs analysis and workforce development planning, thoroughly match TDM’s offer with the employer partner’s value requirements.
- Secure a formal commitment from an employer to deliver an apprenticeship to a new recruit, reskill an existing employee or to engage with other TDM coaching programmes, such as skills bootcamps.
- Build local and national credibility and the reputation of TDM to be the go-to training provider for tech, digital and AI apprenticeships and training.
- Attend relevant networking events to generate leads and build relationships with employers.
- Account manage allocated employers.
- Support and manage the customer journey.
- Grow revenue and identify strategies for future growth opportunities.
- Compellingly present a range of TDM services in public/online presentations.
- Ensure quality and accuracy in the completion of required documentation, processes and systems.
- Any other duties as directed by your line manager and/or a Director.
- Ensure compliance with all TDM policies, procedures and legal responsibilities, including safeguarding, ISO9001, Confidentiality, Data Protection and Cyber Essentials.

Ideal Candidate:
Required:
- A background in the apprenticeship or skills sector.
- A history of converting prospects into sign-ups.
- Ability to work to strict timelines and targets.
- A history of B2B sales experience.
- Experience attending networking events.
- An individual who has a passion for working with and fostering relationships with employers, stakeholders and learners.
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail skills.
- General IT Skills (Excel, Word, updating a CRM system etc).
- The ability to deliver against TDM values and communicate with individuals from various backgrounds.
- The ability to adapt to changing legislation, multi-task and use a variety of systems as required.
- Due to the nature of this role a full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle is necessary.

- Knowledge and understanding of Apprenticeship funding rules.
- Experience of working with and building trusted relationships with Levy paying employers.
