We are currently working with a specialist STEM recruitment business with a global presence. They are looking to bring their Learning & Development function in house for the first time with their business headcount growing, they are now in a position to bring in an L&D specialist that will continue to support with business growth.

The Role

This is a hands-on, full-time L&D role focused on training and developing recruitment consultants from induction through to advanced sales training. You will be the go-to person for all L&D, working closely with the Managing Director and playing a key part in rebuilding the sales pipeline as the business grows. They would like someone current, energetic and hands-on who can bring sales training capability. There will be a potential for this role to grow into a broader people leadership position in the future as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver induction training for new starters, covering both contract and permanent recruitment desks.
  • Run ongoing sales and consultative training for 360 recruiters, with particular focus on contracts.
  • Deliver coaching sessions that build consultants' confidence, technique and billing performance.
  • Support the fixed bi-monthly intake of 4-6 new hires with a structured onboarding programme.
  • Keep training content and methods current, reflecting current tools, technology and market conditions.
  • Partner closely with the Managing Director on the ongoing L&D strategy as the business scales.
  • Build strong relationships across the business, including with the contracts and perm desk leads.
  • Contribute ideas on how L&D, HR and internal recruitment could work more closely together over time.

About You

  • 2-3 years (desirable) experience as a trainer, ideally within an agency recruitment business.
  • Recruitment experience is essential, you understand the day-to-day of working a 360 desk and what differentiates strong recruiters.
  • Confident training on both contract and permanent recruitment.
  • Ambitious and looking to grow within the role or leadership role in the future.
  • Able to commit to being in the office in Essex 5 days a week.

Those with recruitment experience and currently in an L&D sales role within a recruitment agency will be prioritised.
