Our business partners are the critical two-way link between the business and our Learning and Development teams. As a key member of the team, your role contributes true value to the bottom line and is recognised as essential for short and long-term strategic business planning.

Your role Reporting to a Senior Manager in the SRTA Learning team, you will build trusted advisor relationships within the SRTA business. Using your knowledge and experience of the core HR competencies coupled with your commercial awareness, you will translate your client’s business needs into realistic and achievable plans that reflect the overall SRTA Learning Strategy and deliver impact. It’s a fast-paced and changing environment. Working closely with design and delivery teams you will ensure the business agenda for technical training remains on track and on budget. You will be a role model for collaboration to those around you, influencing, coaching, motivating and challenging stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities Strategic

  • Build trusted advisor relationships with business stakeholders in the market offering/competency area.
  • Understand and drive implementation of a business line/offering specific learning strategy aligned to business and learning CoE strategy.
  • Lead the planning and participation of an annual learning needs analysis in market offering /competency area, to develop an understanding of the current and future learning needs (including on-going projects, issues, business drivers, etc.), enabling greater clarity around key issues and the development of effective L&D solutions.
  • Represent learning on relevant management committee structures within the market offering/capability and influence the agenda to ensure that the learning business case is fulfilled.

Management

  • Bring an expert view of the business area and drive design & delivery projects to ensure business solutions are innovative and practical and aligned to business objectives and delivered within budget and timeframes.
  • As an expert, lead on market offering/capability projects, and represent the business area into projects for business-driven technical curriculum, sit in design and delivery project meetings to ensure alignment with client needs.

Operational excellence

  • Input into the annual budget process, leading for the market offering/capability
  • Develop and provide meaningful management information to the market offering/capability for learning consumption and quality/risk purposes and to measure the effectiveness of learning and support the achievement of its goals.
  • Ensure the market offering/capability technical learning curriculum, and wider suite of development solutions, remains relevant and adapts to changing business requirements.
  • Oversee the smooth running of the market offering/capability technical learning curriculum with support from the curriculum assistant manager and our learning support service.
  • Support nomination processes for various courses and talent processes
  • Support and advise on coaching requests ensuring our people have access to the right development

Connect to your skills and professional experience

  • Professional training / HR development / education qualifications in relevant subject area
  • Demonstrable experience at manager level and have a proven track record in core HR competencies and exposure to the associated risks.
  • Design and facilitate engaging courses and workshops as required, supporting the SRTA, wider Deloitte UK business, and Deloitte University.
  • Ability to present complex data to a large audience.
  • Adept at communicating, influencing, coaching, educating, challenging and managing senior stakeholders. Strong financial management/commercial acumen.
  • Ability to understand and contribute to the effective development of L&D and OD strategies while understanding the implications from a culture, business success and company practice standpoint.
  • The ability to translate client business needs into realistic and achievable plans in collaboration with the learning CoE.
  • Ability to provide coaching, work collaboratively, and consult effectively and independently with senior levels of the organisation.
  • Proven team leadership and management skills and ability to create a high performing, motivating, supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills to address diverse organisational stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience or exposure to project management principles.
