As a Learning Coach
You will be required to work remotely and, in the workplace, to deliver and assess learners taking a range of standards and qualifications from levels 2 to 5 within the WELL portfolio for both Apprenticeships and Commercial clients. You will be responsible for supporting learners throughout their apprenticeship journey, ensuring they make timely progress and are fully prepared for gateway and End Point Assessment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Learning Coach Duties And Responsibilities:
- Onboarding, Coaching, Training, Reviewing, Assessing, Monitoring, and Tracking Apprentices: Delivery will take place either remotely or face-to-face at employers' premises.
- Delivery of Apprenticeship Standards: Coaching learners to develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to successfully achieve their apprenticeship standard to a level of distinction wherever possible.
- Maintaining a Funded Caseload of Learners: In line with Well Training policy. The agreed caseload will be agreed with the Head of Apprenticeships, considering your subject specialism and the delivery requirements.
- Maintaining Accurate and Up-to-Date Learner Records: By updating weekly tracking information and learner progress within Smart Assessor and other reporting systems. This includes monitoring and recording apprentice progress towards their apprenticeship standard and, where applicable, Functional Skills qualifications.
- Ensuring All Documentation is Up to Date: Submit to the Recruitment and Compliance Manager on a timely basis, in line with the business standards including learner training plans and any change of circumstances. It will also be your responsibility to ensure learners off the job hours are on track and added to Smart Assessor or other systems.
- Ensuring Employer Reviews Take Place: Every quarter with your caseload of Apprentices.
- Participating in Standardisation Meetings and Sharing Best Practice: Across the apprenticeship team.
- Contributing to WELL Training' Quality Assurance Processes: By undertaking assessment and IQA activities, participating in teaching and learning observations, and supporting with Ofsted activity in line with company policies and procedures.
- Producing Resources and Improving Ongoing Curriculum Development: To deliver high-class learning to all WELL TRAINING apprentices.
- Completing a Minimum of 30 Hours CPD Annually: And participate in any additional CPD identified by the Head of Apprenticeships. This includes maintaining and developing your occupational competence, industry knowledge, and subject specialism to ensure your skills remain current and relevant.
- Acting as a Positive Ambassador for WELL Training Ltd: Promoting the organisation's vision and values in all interactions with learners, employers, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Ensuring All Activity Meets Health & Safety, Equality, Data Protection, Safeguarding: As stated in WELL Training Ltd.’s policies and procedures.

Hours of Work
- 37.5 hours per week / worked flexibly between 08.30-17.30, Mondays to Fridays inclusive (“core hours”).
- Occasional work outside these hours may be required with reasonable notice.
- Flexible working arrangements and reasonable adjustments will be considered in accordance with organisational policy.
Annual Leave
- 30 days, plus 8 statutory public and bank holidays, 1 additional day of leave for your birthday.
Place of Work
- Home-based involving regular remote delivery and planned travel to employer premises and other delivery locations. Travel expectations will be discussed during the recruitment process, and reasonable adjustments will be considered.
Person Specification - Learning Coach
Qualifications/Education and Training (evidence A)
- A relevant Level 4 qualification, recognised equivalent, professional accreditation, or demonstrable equivalent occupational competence in the relevant vocational area.
- Level 2 qualifications in English and mathematics, recognised equivalents, or willingness to undertake supported development towards these qualifications within an agreed timescale. Reasonable adjustments will be provided where required.
Desirable
- Recognised teaching or training qualification, or willingness to undertake one.
- Recognised assessor qualification, or willingness to achieve one within an agreed timescale.
- Recognised internal quality assurance qualification, or willingness to achieve one within an agreed timescale.
Experience (evidence AI)
- Relevant and current occupational experience in one or more of the vocational areas delivered by WELL Training, such as hospitality, catering, business, administration, leadership, or management.
- Experience of coaching, teaching, training, mentoring, or supporting development in the workplace.
- Evidence of current occupational knowledge and commitment to continuing professional development.
- Experience of working with employers, customers, or other external stakeholders.

Desirable
- Experience of leadership or management.
- Experience of project management or continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of apprenticeship funding and compliance requirements.
- Experience of audit, inspection, or quality assurance.
- Knowledge of the Ofsted inspection framework.
Skills/Aptitudes and Competencies
- Communicates information clearly and appropriately with learners, employers, and colleagues through written, verbal, and digital channels.
- Able to use Microsoft 365, online learning platforms, and learner management systems, or able to learn new systems with appropriate training.
- Plans caseload activity, maintains accurate records, and manages competing deadlines.
- Uses coaching, feedback, and goal-setting techniques to support learner engagement and progress.
- Ability to work on one’s own initiative or as part of the wider team.
- Ability to travel to employer and learner locations with reasonable adjustments considered where appropriate.
- Demonstrates a practical commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion, including adapting teaching, coaching, and assessment to meet individual learner needs.
- Able to manage competing priorities, maintain professional boundaries, and seek support appropriately when managing challenging situations.

- Demonstrate an understanding of WELL Training’s values and ability to demonstrate practical implementation throughout their work duties.
Salary
- £32,000 – £40,000 (Dependent upon qualifications and experience)
