About the Role
Avid Learning is seeking a Learning Content Specialist to help develop, edit, maintain, and modernize educational content for media professionals, educators, students, and enterprise customers worldwide.
This role combines instructional content development, technical editing, software validation, and AI-assisted content creation. The Learning Content Specialist will work closely with product experts, certified instructors, subject matter experts, and internal stakeholders to create engaging learning experiences across Avid's certification programs, instructor-led training, self-paced learning, and digital learning platforms.
As Avid expands its use of AI-assisted content development, this position will play a critical role in ensuring all content remains accurate, technically sound, instructionally effective, and aligned with real-world workflows. Candidates must be comfortable reviewing AI-generated content, validating procedures within Avid software applications, and refining educational materials to meet Avid Learning's quality standards.
The ideal candidate is passionate about education, media technology, storytelling, and helping others develop professional skills.
Key Responsibilities
Content Development
- Create and maintain educational content for Avid Learning programs
- Develop student guides, instructor guides, assessments, exercises, learning activities, and online training materials
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, engaging learning experiences
- Collaborate with instructors, product teams, and subject matter experts to develop new courses and certifications
- Contribute to course updates associated with major software releases and new product offerings

Content Editing & Quality Assurance
- Review and edit learning content for clarity, consistency, accuracy, and instructional effectiveness
- Verify software workflows and procedures through hands-on testing
- Validate exercises, assessments, and instructional materials before publication
- Maintain content standards across all Avid Learning offerings
- Identify and correct technical inaccuracies, outdated procedures, and workflow issues
AI-Assisted Content Development
- Utilize AI-powered tools to accelerate content creation and maintenance
- Review, validate, and improve AI-generated instructional content
- Test AI-generated procedures directly within Avid applications to ensure accuracy
- Help establish best practices for responsible and effective use of AI in educational content development
- Continuously improve workflows that combine AI efficiency with human expertise
Learning Platform Support
- Prepare content for deployment within Avid Learning Central and other learning platforms
- Assist with content organization, metadata, accessibility, and learner experience improvements
- Support ongoing content modernization initiatives and certification program enhancements
Collaboration & Innovation
- Work closely with Avid Certified Instructors, Learning Partners, product managers, engineers, and content developers
- Participate in curriculum planning and certification development projects
- Research emerging industry workflows and educational technologies
- Recommend improvements to learning content, assessments, and delivery methods

Preferred Qualifications
Required
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to independently research, verify, and validate technical information
- Experience creating, editing, or maintaining technical, educational, or instructional content
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Avid Media Composer Specialist certification or ability to obtain certification within six months of hire
- Avid Pro Tools Specialist certification or ability to obtain certification within six months of hire
- Experience using Media Composer and/or Pro Tools in professional, educational, or production environments
- Experience with instructional design, technical writing, curriculum development, or educational publishing
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) platforms
- Familiarity with AI-assisted writing, editing, and content development tools
- Experience with video production, audio production, post-production, broadcast, or media technology workflows
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Communications, Media Production, Technical Writing, Instructional Design, or a related field
