Role Purpose

The Learning Content Studio Lead is responsible for transforming Dalcour Maclaren's technical expertise into engaging, scalable and accessible digital learning experiences.

Working closely with technical specialists, professional leads and skills leads across surveying, planning, environmental, geomatics and other specialist disciplines, the role will capture critical organisational knowledge and convert it into high-quality learning content.

The role will establish and lead the DM Academy's internal content studio capability, producing a continuous flow of digital learning assets including short-form video content, micro-learning, e-learning modules, technical explainers, podcasts, guides and knowledge resources.

The Learning Content Studio Lead will play a pivotal role in accelerating capability development across the business by making technical expertise easier to share, consume and apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Knowledge Capture & Content Creation

  • Partner with professional leads, technical experts and skills leads to identify priority knowledge areas.
  • Facilitate knowledge-capture sessions with subject matter experts.
  • Translate technical expertise into engaging learning content suitable for a range of audiences.
  • Convert complex information into practical, learner-focused resources.
  • Create content that supports both early-career professionals and experienced practitioners.

Content Studio Leadership

  • Establish and manage the DM Academy Content Studio.
  • Own the end-to-end content production process from concept through to publication.
  • Develop content standards, templates and quality assurance processes.
  • Build a sustainable pipeline of learning content aligned to business priorities.
  • Ensure content remains current, relevant and technically accurate.

Digital Learning Production

  • Produce short-form video content on a regular basis.
  • Create micro-learning resources, digital learning modules and learning pathways.
  • Design highly engaging multimedia learning experiences.
  • Apply modern learning design principles to maximise learner engagement and retention.
  • Incorporate graphics, animation, interactive content and AI-enabled tools where appropriate.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with technical leaders across the business.
  • Coach subject matter experts on effective knowledge sharing.
  • Coordinate contributions from multiple stakeholders.
  • Act as the bridge between technical expertise and learner experience.

Learning Technology

  • Manage and optimise learning authoring tools and content development platforms.
  • Work effectively with Learning Management Systems and digital learning environments.
  • Stay informed on emerging learning technologies and content production techniques.
  • Recommend innovative approaches to improve quality, speed and scalability.

Academy Visibility & Engagement

  • Promote learning content across the organisation.
  • Support capability-building campaigns and learning initiatives.
  • Create a consistent cadence of learning content releases throughout the year.
  • Help establish DM Academy as a centre of excellence for professional development and technical learning.

Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor learner engagement and content usage.
  • Gather feedback from learners and stakeholders.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning assets.
  • Continuously improve content quality and impact through data and insight.

Key Deliverables:

The Learning Content Studio Lead will:

  • Deliver a consistent flow of digital learning content throughout the year.
  • Publish regular short-form learning content.
  • Build and maintain a growing technical learning library.
  • Increase employee engagement with self-directed learning.
  • Improve access to technical knowledge across the business.
  • Strengthen capability development through scalable learning solutions.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Essential

  • Experience designing and developing digital learning content.
  • Experience creating video-based content and multimedia learning assets.
  • Strong instructional design capability.
  • Experience using e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate and Rise.
  • Ability to convert technical information into engaging and accessible learning experiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with subject matter experts.
  • Strong project planning and organisational capability.

Desirable

  • Experience within professional services, infrastructure, engineering, surveying or consultancy environments.
  • Experience establishing content production processes or learning content libraries.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and learning experience design.
  • Experience using AI-enabled learning or content generation tools.
  • Graphic design, animation or media production experience.
  • Learning and Development qualification or equivalent experience.

After 12 months, success would be demonstrated through:

  • A strong library of technical learning content covering key disciplines.
  • Regular publication of engaging digital learning resources.
  • Strong engagement from technical experts and professional leads.
