ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking an enthusiastic and relationship-focused Learning & Development Lead to drive the continued growth and success of the Houlden People Academy and our wider learning and development offering.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing engaging online, face-to-face and virtual learning opportunities that support Houlden Members, Supplier Partners and their teams. They will build strong relationships across the Membership, drive engagement with the People Academy, coordinate training programmes, analyse platform usage and performance, and contribute to projects that support Houlden's wider strategic and operational objectives.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about learning, relationship management and continuous improvement to play a key role in strengthening Houlden's Member proposition.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the primary point of contact for Members, Supplier Partners and users of the Houlden People Academy.
  • Develop strong relationships with Members and Supplier Partners to understand learning and development requirements.
  • Drive engagement with the People Academy through onboarding, support and regular communication.
  • Source, coordinate and manage relevant online learning content in line with the agreed People Academy roadmap.
  • Coordinate face-to-face training programmes, virtual learning sessions and peer discussion groups.
  • Work collaboratively with Supplier Partners, external training providers and internal colleagues to develop high-quality learning opportunities.
  • Analyse platform usage, engagement and completion data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Produce regular management reports and KPI information.
  • Manage agreed learning and development budgets effectively.
  • Support wider Member engagement initiatives, business projects and continuous improvement activities.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and data protection requirements.
  • Travel throughout the UK and Ireland as required to support Member engagement, training delivery, Supplier Partner meetings, business development activities and other business requirements.
  • Attend and support Houlden events, exhibitions, conferences, Member meetings, Supplier events and relevant jewellery industry trade events, including occasional evening work and overnight stays where required.

KEY RESULT AREAS

Member Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Members, Supplier Partners and People Academy users.
  • Conduct regular engagement reviews with Members.
  • Identify learning requirements and recommend suitable development solutions.
  • Gather feedback to continually improve Houlden's learning offer.

Member & Supplier Onboarding

  • Support the onboarding of new Members, Supplier Partners and users.
  • Promote adoption of the People Academy.
  • Develop opportunities to increase participation and value.

People Academy Development

  • Support the continued development of the online learning platform.
  • Improve functionality, user experience and content.
  • Research new learning technologies and digital learning solutions.
  • Contribute to the ongoing People Academy roadmap.

Learning Content & Delivery

  • Coordinate the development and publication of engaging learning content.
  • Manage relationships with Supplier Partners, external training providers and subject matter experts.
  • Maintain an appropriate balance of product knowledge, technical, compliance, professional and personal development content.

Virtual & Face-to-Face Learning

  • Coordinate virtual learning sessions and peer discussion groups.
  • Develop and deliver Houlden's programme of face-to-face learning and development opportunities.
  • Manage venues, speakers, communications, materials and logistics.
  • Evaluate learning outcomes and continuously improve future programmes.

Communications & Engagement

  • Promote learning opportunities across the Membership.
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing to maximise awareness, participation and engagement.
  • Support communication plans that encourage adoption of the People Academy and wider learning opportunities.

Data, Reporting & Performance

  • Monitor engagement, participation and completion data.
  • Produce regular People Academy performance reports.
  • Monitor agreed KPIs and identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Use data and stakeholder feedback to inform future learning priorities.

Budget & Commercial Awareness

  • Manage learning and development expenditure within agreed budgets.
  • Deliver value for money when sourcing training and external support.
  • Support opportunities to enhance the commercial sustainability of the People Academy.

Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Support strategic and operational projects across the business.
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Undertake research and benchmarking to support decision-making.
  • Recommend improvements to processes, systems and Member services.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

  • Experience in learning and development, training, education, Member engagement or a similar role.
  • Experience managing digital learning platforms or Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Experience coordinating projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience producing reports and analysing performance data.
  • Experience developing and delivering learning programmes is desirable.
