At William Grant & Sons, learning is how we build capability, grow talent and create a high-performing organisation, not an add-on.
About the Role
As a Learning & Development Manager, you will partner with Business Units, HR colleagues, and leaders to shape capability solutions that strengthen performance today and prepare our organisation for the future.
This is a highly collaborative role, working across the business to identify critical capability gaps, translate business priorities into development roadmaps, and ensure learning investment delivers measurable impact. You'll play a key role in embedding the William Grant Way, supporting competency frameworks, and driving the consistent application of learning processes and standards across the organisation.
If you enjoy combining solutions thinking with practical delivery, influencing stakeholders, and building capability that makes a real difference to business performance, this role offers the opportunity to do exactly that.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
