Job Title: Learning & Development Manager
Salary: £49,500 - £60,000 depending on skills demonstrated
Contract: Full time & fixed term contract – 18m
Hours: Full Time - 37.50
Location: Desford, Leicestershire

We're looking for a Learning & Development Manager to lead learning and capability development across the Desford and Stockton sites.
Working with business leaders, HR Business Partners and enterprise learning teams, you'll identify capability needs, develop practical learning solutions and help ensure employees have the skills and knowledge needed to support business performance today and in the future.
Covering all areas of the business, you'll bring together operational training, professional development and leadership learning into a joined-up approach that supports capability growth and delivers measurable business value.
What you will do:
As an Learning & Development Manager, you are accountable for, but not limited to:
- Lead the development and ongoing ownership of a structured learning and development plan for Desford and Stockton, ensuring it supports current business priorities and future capability requirements.
- Partner with leaders and stakeholders to identify capability needs, assess skills gaps and agree learning priorities that support operational and organisational performance.
- Design and implement learning and development solutions, including apprenticeships, early careers and leadership development initiatives, that address identified capability needs.
- Coordinate the delivery of learning programmes and resources through internal teams, external providers and learning technologies to achieve effective and consistent outcomes.
- Maximise the value of Caterpillar learning resources, technologies and partnerships to deliver practical, scalable and cost-effective development opportunities.
- Evaluate learning effectiveness and drive continuous improvement, using data, feedback and business insight to measure impact and enhance the quality and value of learning activities.

What You Can Demonstrate:
Level: Working Knowledge
Consulting: Build effective relationships with leaders and stakeholders to understand capability needs, provide advice and recommend practical learning solutions. Your ability to influence and guide others will help ensure learning activity supports business priorities.
Training Needs Analysis: Assess current and future capability requirements, identify skills gaps and establish learning priorities. This will enable development activity to focus on the areas that will have the greatest impact on individual and organisational performance.
Training Solution Development: Design and implement learning and development solutions that address capability gaps and support business goals. Success in this area means creating practical, relevant and effective learning experiences that meet business needs.
Training Delivery: Coordinate learning solutions through internal teams, external providers, and learning technologies. You'll ensure learning is delivered effectively, reaches the right audiences and supports the successful application of new skills in the workplace.
Top Candidates will have:
- Evaluate learning effectiveness, identify improvement opportunities and use insights to increase the impact and value of development activities.
- Make effective use of learning systems, external partners and available resources to deliver efficient and scalable learning solutions.
- Contribute to initiatives such as apprenticeships, early careers and leadership development, helping build the skills needed to meet current and future business requirements.

Travel:

This position requires working onsite five days a week.
