At LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming), we're looking for a Learning Development Manager to lead the development and delivery of our learning and skills programmes that support farmers, advisers, educators, auditors and agri-food professionals to adopt more sustainable farming practices.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering LEAF's strategic ambitions by developing innovative learning solutions that increase the adoption of Integrated Farm Management (IFM), LEAF Marque and regenerative farming practices across the UK and internationally.

About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Innovation and Knowledge Exchange, you'll lead the design, development and delivery of LEAF's learning and training portfolio. Combining technical agricultural knowledge with excellent programme management and stakeholder engagement skills, you'll ensure our learning offer is engaging, accessible, impactful and commercially sustainable.

Working collaboratively across LEAF, you'll partner with colleagues in technical, education, membership, communications and standards teams, as well as external partners and industry stakeholders, to create learning experiences that deliver real value for our members.

  • Develop and implement LEAF's learning, training and skills strategy.
  • Design engaging learning programmes, workshops and digital resources for a wide range of audiences.
  • Manage and continually improve LEAF's Learning Management System (LMS), learner experience and reporting.
  • Translate technical agricultural information into practical, accessible learning content.
  • Build strong relationships with members, advisers, educators, LEAF Demonstration Farms, Innovation Centres and industry partners.
  • Monitor programme performance, learner engagement and impact, using data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to develop new learning programmes, partnerships and income-generating activities.
  • Represent LEAF at meetings, events and industry forums, promoting knowledge exchange and best practice.
  • Work collaboratively across the organisation to ensure learning supports LEAF's strategic objectives.

About You
We're looking for someone who combines technical agricultural knowledge with a passion for learning and development.

You'll bring:

  • A strong understanding of sustainable and regenerative farming systems, Integrated Farm Management (IFM) and environmental best practice.
  • Experience designing and delivering engaging learning and training programmes.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical information into practical, engaging learning resources.
  • Experience managing learning management systems (LMS) and digital learning platforms.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent project and programme management abilities, with experience managing multiple priorities.
  • A data-driven approach to evaluating learning effectiveness and improving outcomes.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities that support organisational growth and sustainability.
  • A collaborative, proactive and organised approach, with excellent attention to detail.

It would be great if you also have:

  • Knowledge of LEAF Marque or agricultural assurance schemes.
  • Experience of instructional design and adult learning principles.
  • Experience working in membership organisations, charities or on externally funded projects.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and multilingual learning resources.
  • Experience supporting business development or commercial training services.

Location: Hybrid working (minimum one day per week at LEAF office, currently Friday)
Hours: Full-time (9-5, five days per week)
Salary Range: £39,000-£41,000 per annum
