Position: Learning & Development Manager

Salary: £39,000 per annum
Location: Head Office – Milton Keynes

We’re looking for an experienced, creative, and practical learning and development professional to join the team at our Head Office in Milton Keynes.

In the UK, we currently operate over 220 high street Adult Gaming Centres under our MERKUR Slots Brand, as well as two Merkur Casinos.

About You:

We are looking for someone with exceptional interpersonal skills, with a coaching style approach. You’ll be experienced in delivering the learning and development strategy across a multifaceted business and have the tenacity to get the job done effectively and efficiently.

  • Experience supervising, coaching, or line managing others
  • A warm, welcoming disposition
  • Knowledgeable in digital learning authoring tools, for example Articulate
  • Experience working within a customer-facing, or operational environment
  • A team player with the ability to develop positive relationships and work effectively with key stakeholders at all levels and seniority.
  • A natural problem solver
  • Proficient in MS Office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Relevant learning and development qualifications to evidence your skills and experience

As part of the team you will:

  • Provide day-to-day line management for the coordinator
  • Support the Head of L&D in developing and delivering the L&D business strategy
  • Determine learning and development needs and requirements by working with managers, employees, HR, and other relevant stakeholders, using appropriate training needs analysis tools.
  • Design and develop innovative and effective learning programmes, interventions, and resources in response to identified business and development needs.
  • Deliver professional and engaging learning programmes to employees and managers across different levels and group sizes.
  • Create appropriate learning aids, tools, and resources to support the effective delivery and application of learning.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts to develop appropriate face-to-face, digital, and blended learning solutions.
  • Support the effective use of the Learning Management System (LMS) and digital learning resources.
  • Research and consider new learning techniques, systems, and methodologies, recommending and incorporating improvements where appropriate.
  • Monitor and review existing learning programmes and materials to ensure they remain effective, relevant, and appropriate.
  • Use evaluation tools, learner feedback, and other available information to assess the effectiveness of learning interventions and recommend improvements.
  • Work with colleagues within the L&D team to support the effective scheduling, coordination, and administration of learning activities.
  • Manage agreed L&D projects and initiatives, ensuring they are delivered effectively and within agreed timescales.
  • Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders across the business and provide appropriate advice and guidance on learning and development matters.
