Learning & Development Partner
Salary: Dependent on Experience
Location: Solihull
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
About the Role
We are looking for a Learning & Development Partner to design, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate learning and development initiatives that enhance employee skills, knowledge, and performance, supporting both individual career development and organisational success. The role involves managing the provision of mandatory training to ensure the business remains compliant with required legislation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Training Delivery and Coordination
- Create, design, and deliver training and development courses/initiatives aligned to business needs
- Work closely and regularly with key internal stakeholders to shape development requirements
- Proactively engage with external providers to source training provision, where required
- Continually review training materials and ensure their suitability, compliance, and relevance
- Collaboratively manage early career offerings, ensuring their suitability, compliance, and content
- Monitor development KPI’s, recording monthly and offering insight
- Using our Learning platform to create an intuitive end-to-end Learning Management System
- Occasional travel to other sites which may require the need for an overnight stay.
Learners
- Be accessible to all staff on-site for structured and ad-hoc meetings regarding training
- Provide face-to-face support and coaching to learners and key stakeholders
- Monitor learners regularly through reporting, coaching, and structured meetings
- Be visible within the business and engage with all departments regularly
- Work collaboratively and professionally with line managers regarding their learners.

Training Administration
- Ensure all training is delivered on time in line with required new starter requirements, mandatory renewals, and bookings
- Managing our Apprenticeship scheme administration via the Gov website (Apprenticeship Service Account)
- Ensure all certification is produced, sent, and stored as required
- Manage training email inboxes to ensure they are up to date and actioned daily
- Accurately maintain and update internal and external portals and databases
- Collate and act upon course feedback
- Process purchase order numbers and invoices
- Ensure NDA (National Drainage Academy) database is fully updated
- Respond to customer enquiries via email, phone, and in person
- Process training course bookings through internal systems
- Efficiently coordinate training providers to deliver required training in an acceptable timescale
- Liaise with training providers and venues to confirm and cancel events
- Organise delegate accommodation where required, produce course literature, joining instructions, and invoices accordingly
- Organising training materials and printing in-house, when necessary, prior to the course
- Produce and send certification to delegates internally and externally, ensuring it is stored as required.
Management of Training
- Work within the training budget set, with any additional spend requested prior
- Communicate to the wider business on matters of learning and development
- Work within Human Resources, maintaining appropriate professional boundaries, confidentiality, and impartiality when supporting learners, managers, and colleagues
- Contribute to the development and delivery of a three-year strategic training and development plan, aligned with Human Resources priorities and wider business objectives
- Update the control tower monthly (metrics capture) to maintain accurate, current data and enable effective collaboration, reporting, and decision-making across Human Resources and relevant stakeholders

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- Demonstrable L&D experience, ideally within a compliance environment
- Experience coordinating and administering training & development programmes
- Experience managing an LMS
- Experience in designing learning interventions
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work on your own initiative
- Be an effective team player and actively contribute to our continual improvement culture
- Self-motivated with a positive can-do attitude
- Strong administrative skills with a good eye for detail and accuracy
- Comfortable with change and a continuous improvement environment
- A natural people person.
