Introduction to role
Vanderlande is the global market leader in automation systems and solutions for customers within the Airports, Parcel & Warehousing sectors striving to improve the competitiveness of our customers through Value Added logistic process automation.
We are looking for a Team Lead who combines strong learning expertise with people leadership. You will shape and deliver impactful learning solutions while leading and developing a small team of Learning Consultants and/or coordinators.
In this role, your focus is on the full scope of learning/training (including compliance, safety, leadership learning etc.), ensuring our teams have the required knowledge, certifications, and capabilities to work safely, compliant, and effectively in their daily operations.
Role Responsibilities
You act as the link between business strategy, compliance requirements, and learning execution, translating safety, regulatory, and capability needs into clear, scalable learning solutions. At the same time, you create a structured, motivating, and high-performing team environment that enables ownership, consistency, and continuous improvement.
This role is positioned with a strong emphasis on maturity, leadership development, and increasing impact on safe and compliant ways of working for our Key-account and across our region.
Your responsibilities and activities will include:
Learning & Consultancy
- Own and develop a learning portfolio that supports our business, service, and capability priorities.
- Analyse learning needs together with stakeholders (e.g. service teams, HR business partners, QHSC department).
- Design and govern learning solutions based on the 70:20:10 learning principle.
- Ensure learning curricula, materials, and pathways are up to date, scalable, relevant, and accessible in our LMSystem.
- Drive continuous improvement using learning data (participation, evaluation, impact, cost).
- Manage and collaborate with internal trainers and external learning suppliers.

Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a small team of Learning Consultants and/or L&D coordinators.
- Set clear priorities, roles, and expectations within the team.
- Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support professional and personal development through coaching and feedback.
- Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day team matters and escalations.
Governance & Stakeholder Management
- Ensure learning solutions align with UK & global standards and policies.
- Act as a trusted advisor to management on learning strategy and capability development.
- Balance global standardisation with local business needs.
- Alignment and collaboration with Global Academy/Global L&D department.
- Contribute to Service Excellence within the region to focus on and increasing impact on safe and compliant ways of working for operational onsite teams.
Role Qualification and Skills
- Proven experience as a Learning Consultant, Learning Professional, or L&D Specialist.
- Experience within Service, Operations, Engineering, or Technical environments.
- Experience or clear potential in people leadership or team coordination.
- Strong consultancy skills: able to translate business needs into learning solutions.
- Affinity with data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortably operating in a global, multicultural environment.
- Familiarity with Workday Learning, Visma Plusport LMS, and/or other SCORM (Learning Management System).
- Experience working with external training suppliers or global learning programs.
