NHS Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board Opportunity
NHS Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (KMICB) is offering an exciting new opportunity for a motivated Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional with experience in the field of the Learning Disability/Autism programme. This role is aimed at those who wish to develop their career within the Specialist Mental Health/LDA Assessment and Placements Team (Hosted by KMICB).
Responsibilities
- Attend adult Out of Area Treatment Learning Disability and Autism (LD/A OATS) panels: The adult LD/A OATs panel decides appropriate treatment pathways for inpatient placement and treatment for the LD/A patient cohort.
- Oversee care and treatment: On behalf of KMICB, ensure patients are always being offered the right care, at the right time, in the right place, and that care and treatment offered is in line with the LD/A OATS Service Specification.
- Clinical oversight visits: Conduct visits on an eight-weekly basis.
- Clinical review and challenge: Attend LD/A OATS panels and offer clinical review and challenge to applications.
- Clinical support: Offer clinical support to Specialist Mental Health/LDA Assessment and Placements Team regarding concerns, queries, or complaints related to LD/A OATS issues.
- Legal and statutory issues: Under the direction of the Deputy Head of Mental Health/LDA Specialist Assessments and Placements Team, respond to and manage any legal or statutory issues relating to Care Quality Commission (CQC) alerts or safeguarding issues.

Hours and Schedule
- Hours: 37.5 per week
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 09.00 – 17.00 hours (some flexibility offered)
Reporting and Processes
- Reporting: Ensure any concerns identified are reported as per KMICB or relevant Local Authority processes and procedures to protect patients and inform statutory authorities.
