Weโ€™re currently recruiting full-time and part-time Learning Disability Support Workers to join our dedicated team supporting service users across Basildon and the surrounding areas.

Work Locations

  • ๐ŸŒ‡ Pitsea (SS13)
  • ๐ŸŒณ Basildon Central (SS14)

Pay & Benefits

๐Ÿ’ท Pay Rates: ยฃ12.71 / ยฃ13.01 / ยฃ13.21 per hour

๐Ÿš— Mileage allowance: Paid mileage between visits

Shift Patterns

Our services run 7 days a week, offering flexible shifts to suit your lifestyle. Shift patterns can vary based on the individuals you are supporting, but typically include:

  • ๐ŸŒž Day Shifts
  • ๐ŸŒ™ Evening Shifts
  • ๐Ÿ›Œ Sleep-in/Waking nights

Job Description

๐Ÿ’™ What Youโ€™ll Be Doing

As a Learning Disability Support Worker, youโ€™ll deliver high-quality, person-centred support that prioritises independence, dignity, and fun!

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

  • ๐Ÿณ Empowering Independence (helping individuals develop essential life skills, from cooking and budgeting to household tasks)
  • ๐Ÿšถ Community Access (supporting individuals to get out and about to college, shopping, hobbies, and social activities)
  • ๐Ÿ’ง Personal care (providing dignified support with bathing, dressing, and grooming as required)
  • ๐Ÿ’Š Medication support (collecting prescriptions, providing reminders, and administration)
  • ๐Ÿ’ฌ Emotional support (being a consistent, encouraging presence to help build confidence and self-esteem)

Youโ€™ll Also:

  • ๐Ÿค Encourage social engagement and family connections
  • ๐Ÿ‘€ Monitor wellbeing and report any changes to healthcare professionals and family
  • ๐Ÿ“ Maintain accurate documentation of support provided
  • ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Respond to emergencies safely and effectively
  • ๐Ÿงฉ Work collaboratively with families and the wider care team

Qualifications

๐Ÿฆธ What Youโ€™ll Need (Besides a Cape!)

Hold onto your hats, because you don't need any social care experience to join our merry band of care crusaders! ๐Ÿ’ช

We offer full, paid training โ€” all you need is a positive attitude, reliability, and the drive to champion independence.

Requirements:

  • ๐Ÿš— Driving Requirement: Access to a vehicle and a full driving licence is strictly required due to the community-based nature of this role covering SS13, SS14, and SS15.
  • โœ… Genuine compassion and respect for others (kindness goes a long way!)
  • โœ… A positive, energetic, and proactive attitude (as resilient as a rubber band and eager to learn)
  • โœ… Strong communication and listening skills (that would make a UN diplomat jealous)
  • โœ… Problem-solving abilities
  • โœ… Reliability and a caring, supportive nature
  • โœ… The right to work in the UK (sorry, time travellers from the future need not apply)
